Autumn Metallic with Dior Addict Fluid Shadows!
The fall makeup trend that returns every year, it's definitely the metallic effect. Not only is it something I appreciate because the products that have this type of finish often apply quickly and can stand on their own, but I think they also tend to "open" the eyes and dress in a wink. So I continue today my overview of the fall 2015 collections with the new Dior Addict Fluid Shadows!
One thing is certain: their packaging is so cute that he immediately gave me want to look into their case. The brand presents this innovation for the fall because the texture of these shadows is described as hybrid: both ultra-thin and light, it allows to dress the eyelid of a mirror gloss, long lasting. Dior says that this shadow can be applied on the eyelid as well as a liner for a graphic line. They have a "brush" tip thicker than those that are found on liquid eyeliners but still remains accurate.
In France, 6 colors are available and are already available on the site Sephora (as well as the official e-shop).
When the mark indicates that the texture is very light, it is really the case: the tip should be handled carefully and not make any sudden movements by removing it from its tube because the product is so liquid that it could squirt around you. So this is a very watery texture, ultra concentrated pigment that attaches and does not move. I find the mirror effect absolutely amazing and it's really beautiful to watch.
Beware, if you are a beginner in makeup, if you have no patience when it comes to working certain products or if you have oily eyelids, these new shadows will not be for you! Indeed, they require a little advance taming because all the colors do not react the same way and after a few tries, I will of course share my opinion with you!
Here are the 4 shades that I have to present to you today:
Start with 025 Magnetic, a metallic silver:
Although I find this beautiful color, is less pigmented than others: the metallic effect is still present once the color faded but found this less mirror effect. This is probably related to the fact that silver pigments are less spanning more colorful than others but I found the texture a little more difficult to work. One thing is certain: If this color please, you can not work in the finger. It will bring you a fairly brush supplied and apply for a uniform result and as the heat of the finger tends to make patches on the eyelids.
Then comes 075 Eclipse, a dark brown taupe pulling:
Unfortunately, this is my real disappointment of this collection: the color is very pretty, is easily worked on the back of the hand but on the eyelid, it is impossible to evenly apply. I tried several techniques (finger, brush, directly with the product tip) but the texture is too fluid and not fixed. As soon as one tries to blur the edges of makeup, pigments disappear then it is definitely the color that I do not advise you. In contrast…
It's another story for the hue 655 Universe, a beautiful glossy brown:
This one just a little "consisting" and applies perfectly. Finger, if you work quickly, you will get the same finish as on my picture below:
The metallic effect is stunning and really successful. You can blur the edges of your makeup with a provided and get a perfect result brush. This is my favorite color of the collection.
Finally just 825 Aurora pretty pink champagne:
One thing is certain: to appreciate one must understand the application that best suits. For example, to tint Magnetic, it is better to opt for a brush while for Aurora Universe hues, the finger is enough to spread the material.
Once the material is applied in less than 30 seconds, it is fixed and does not move. It's pretty crazy because the texture is very light effect and does not feel on the eyelids (unlike some creamy blushes that are drier). I wear them for a while and I've never found that the material spun in the crease of the eyelid: it holds too good for that! Another plus: the rendering is exactly the same at the beginning and end of the day!
I think these blushes are definitely unique but they require to use them with patience: If you develop patches when you are working on the finger the solution is to bring a synthetic brush. I highly recommend the Universe Aurora hues and I use a lot right now!
